This class is constructed to suit those with beginner to intermediate ability. We provide starter packs in a choice of botanical designs and you are encouraged to bring projects with you or make a start on kits you have ordered for the day. The tutor will focus on the Victorian Cross Stitch which covers the canvas well and has a strength which creates very durable results. It works evenly without a frame and produces an excellent finish. The morning session will also cover the Left-handed Stitch and Reverse Stitch. Class numbers are limited to allow the tutor to focus on individuals when necessary. Lunch and light refreshments are provided at the hotel and we will happily accommodate specific dietary requirements. Please notify us in advance to arrange for an alternative to be provided. The afternoon session allows individuals to progress on their own work and spend time taking inspiration from stitched pieces on display. We are happy to offer a class discount of 15% on all items pre-ordered or bought on the day.

‘My main objective was to learn how to join pieces. This was met and I am now just completing my first project so it must have been a success! I loved seeing all the completed pieces which have given me lots of ideas. Thank you for a very informative and inspiring day!’ - Fiona
‘Thank you so much for such an enjoyable day at the Cotswold Lodge Hotel, I learned so much. I hope to come again and bring my daughter so that you can enthuse her too.’ – Gillian
‘My confidence in doing the stitching has definitely been boosted: I appreciated the fact that it was a small gathering of people and that I could receive some personal attention and advice on how to proceed. Seeing some of the beautiful finished work done by the more expert stitchers was valuable also: keeping these beautiful pieces in mind stimulates me to try to improve my own work.’ – Stella
‘I can't tell you what a lovely day out I had. You had organised the day beautifully from start to finish! The location was great, and I felt that the class size was just right. It allowed us to receive individual attention which was a real bonus. I really felt that you were very much in tune with our individual needs. Thank you for organising a lovely day.’ – Shona
‘The day was a complete joy - a benefit I had not expected was meeting with such interesting and positive people! The tutor met all of our individual needs very well, was accommodating, motivating, encouraging and supportive. I was pleased to learn how to join pieces of work and now feel confident to 'have a go' in the future. May I say a big thank-you to the team who organised our 'goodie bag', particularly the people who sewed an example of joining, and two pre-stitched samples for us to join. It was such a treat to get the needle threader, snips and magnet!’ - Jan
‘I had no idea what awful bad habits I had developed; self-taught is one thing, but being shown the correct way is SO much better. I look forward to completing a cushion/rug square correctly!’ – Alexandra
‘Enjoyable, interesting and rewarding, it has given me a new enthusiasm for stitching and much improved skills and understanding. I might even attempt a rug!’ - Jill
‘I had wanted to learn how to make my stitching neater and I certainly did. I’d never used a waste knot to begin and now it makes so much more sense. I guess that’s what comes of being self-taught! Although I didn’t need to join any pieces I was interested to learn the technique and returned to my stitching with renewed enthusiasm.’ – Sue
‘I had a wonderful time and could have spent a week. My only complaint is that the day went too fast. I would come to other classes not only because it improves my technique but also because of being able to meet like-minded folks.’ – Susan
‘I found the recent workshop very useful in both meeting other people in order to see what they were doing and to gain confidence in what I was doing. The guidance given was useful in increasing my confidence and assuring me that my techniques were working correctly. I picked up useful tips as well that will enable me to improve my skill’. - Mr A Finney
‘It was an absolutely fantastic day and I loved meeting everyone. I think the general view was how pleased we all were to get together with like-minded people and spend the day doing something we all love. We were also shown a good couple of technique tricks which alone made the day worthwhile.’ – Debbie
‘A BIG THANK YOU for the surprise Goody Bag – that was a lovely touch.’ – Alexandra
‘Helpful, kind and very good company. A lovely day.’ - Maureen
